What Are Lash Glue Cups and Fan Pallets?

Lash glue cups and fan pallets are small disposable holders used during lash extension application. A glue cup or pallet holds a single drop of adhesive, so you dip each extension from a fresh, shallow bead instead of from the bottle. A fan pallet also gives you a place to rest pre-made volume fans before placing them. Both are thrown away after each client, which keeps adhesive fresh and the work hygienic.

Why not dip straight from the bottle or a reusable stone?

  • Adhesive starts to cure as soon as it meets air. A small drop on a holder is replaced every 15 to 20 minutes, so you always work with fresh glue.
  • Hygiene. A disposable surface is used for one client and discarded.
  • Control. A shallow drop makes it easy to coat only the base of the extension.
  • No cleaning. Scraping dried adhesive from a stone takes time and solvent.

Types of adhesive holder

Holder What it is Notes
Glue ring A small cup worn on the finger Adhesive is always close. Hand warmth can speed curing
Glue cup A tiny disposable well, set in a stand or on the tile Stable, and keeps the drop domed
Flower or fan pallet A small shaped pad, often with a central well and petal-like sections Holds a glue drop and gives edges to rest fans on
Sticker or foil dot A flat disposable surface stuck to a stone or tile Cheap and quick
Jade or crystal stone A reusable cool surface Needs a disposable cover or cleaning between clients

Designs vary between makers. Check the product photos to see exactly how a given pallet is shaped.

What is a holder stand for?

A stand keeps the cup or pallet at a fixed place and height on your trolley, so your hand travels the same short distance every dip. It stops the holder sliding, and keeps the drop level so it does not run.

The Uexim eyelash glue holder stand comes with 100 flower-shaped volume fan pallets, for keeping lash extension glue organized and easy to reach during individual and volume lash application. It is available in pink or transparent.

How do you use a glue cup or pallet?

  1. Shake the adhesive as its maker directs.
  2. Purge the nozzle by squeezing a little air out and wiping the tip with a lint-free wipe.
  3. Dispense one small drop into the cup or onto the center of the pallet. A dome shape is ideal. A flat puddle cures faster.
  4. Wipe the nozzle and cap the bottle straight away.
  5. Dip the base of the extension into the edge or center of the drop and draw it out slowly, for a thin, even coat.
  6. Watch the drop. When it thickens, forms strings or skins over, stop using it.
  7. Dispense a fresh drop beside the old one or on a new pallet. Do not add fresh adhesive on top of old.
  8. Discard the holder at the end of the appointment.

How are fan pallets used in volume lashing?

Some artists make each fan and place it immediately. Others make several fans first and rest them on a pallet, bases outward, so they can be picked up, dipped and placed in quick succession. A pallet with sections or petals keeps fans separate and in order by length. Fans made on the strip or bought pre-made can be staged the same way.

How often should the adhesive drop be changed?

Commonly every 15 to 20 minutes, and sooner in warm or humid rooms. Follow your adhesive maker's guidance, and go by what you see: fresh adhesive is thin and glossy. Using a drop that has started to cure gives weak bonds and poor retention.

Tips for consistent results

  • Keep the holder in the same spot for every client.
  • Keep it away from the client's face, your breath, and any fan or humidifier airflow.
  • Do not touch the nozzle to the pallet.
  • Track room temperature and humidity, since they change how quickly adhesive cures.
  • Use a new pallet rather than crowding drops together.

Hygiene and safety

  • One set of holders per client, then the bin.
  • Lash adhesive gives off fumes. Work in a ventilated room and follow the label.
  • Keep adhesive off skin, and never let it near an open eye.
  • Wipe the stand with your approved disinfectant between clients.
  • Follow the hygiene and licensing rules where you work.

Frequently asked questions

Are glue cups better than glue rings?

It is preference. Rings keep adhesive close to the eye area. Cups on a stand keep it away from hand warmth and stay steadier.

How many pallets do I use per client?

Usually two to four, depending on the length of the appointment and how often you refresh the drop.

Can I reuse a pallet?

No. They are single-use.

Do I need a fan pallet for classic lashes?

You only need somewhere to hold the adhesive drop. Fan staging matters for volume work.

The bottom line

A disposable cup or pallet holds one fresh drop of adhesive and, for volume work, a place to stage fans. Refresh the drop often, keep the holder in one place, and discard it after each client.
